Branco Cikatic, the very first champion of K-1, has never fought for Pancrase but for some reasons, three fighters chosen by the Croatian star came to Japan as “Team Cikatic” and fought Takasume Kume, ISAO and Takeshi Sato.
The first fighter from team Cikatic was Anton Radnan.
A 27-year old with pro MMA record of 14-7. He fought Sato who came back from almost one and half year of inactivity.
Radnan did well in the beginning. He landed punches and low-kicks then pulled the guard and tried to execute leg locks.
Sato pulled of his legs and got on top but Radnan countered with armbar off his back.
But that was about it.
When the fight went back to standing the Coratian looked very exhausted.
Sato started to land punches and knee shots, then finally knocked Radnan down with a solid left straight to the chin and it was all over.
Two other fights between Team Cikatic and Pancrase fighters were not even close.
ISAO clinched and easily took Marko Burusic to the ground. From there, ISAO just punished Burusic with series of punches and elbows.
The second round was pretty much the same.
ISAO landed a left upper cut, clinched, and took Burusic down to the ground. From there ISAO just landed strikes after strikes and referee stepped in to stop the fight just before the end of second round.
Kume also had an easy time beating Matja Blazicevic.
The first round was all Kume. In fact this fight was all Kume. The veteran from team ALIVE took Blazicevic down and punished the Croatian with ground and pound.
In the second round, Kume closed in with a right hook then shot in for a takedown.
This time Kume quickly got the back mount and tapped out Blazicevic with a rear naked choke.
