A middleweight clash between Vitor Miranda (12-4) and Marvin Vettori (11-3) has been added to the UFC Fight Night 112 card. News of the matchup was recently reported.
UFC Fight Night 112 will be held at Chesapeake Energy Arena on June 25 in Oklahoma City, Okla. The main event for the card has yet to be announced though the event is expected to broadcast live on FS1 with early prelims streaming on Fight Pass.
Miranda dropped a decision to Antonio Carlos Junior in the TUF Brazil 3 Heavyweight Tournament Finale in May 2014. The 38-year-old Brazilian made a successful move to middleweight in December 2014 with a first round knockout of Jake Collier which earned him “Performance of the Night” honors. Miranda followed that up with consecutive TKO victories over Clint Hester and Marcelo Guimaraes, but most recently lost a decision to Chris Camozzi in May 2016. Miranda is now 3-1 since dropping down to the 185-pound division.
Vettori made his octagon debut in August of last year with a first-round submission of Alberto Uda at UFC 202. That victory culminated a six-fight winning streak for the 23-year-old Italian that included five finishes and the Venator FC welterweight title. Vettori made his sophomore octagon appearance this past December at UFC 207 but dropped a decision to Antonio Carlos Junior. The Stabile Fight Team product has finished eight of his 11 wins via submission.
